Aaron Chambers

In the complex maze of personalities and legislative hurdles under the state Capitol dome, our clients rely on Aaron Chambers to help them develop and carry messages to executive agencies, lawmakers, the media and other public and private officials.

With nearly a decade of experience covering the Capitol as a reporter for a series of publications based across Illinois, Aaron thoroughly understands the ways of Springfield and Illinois. He understands the players and how to reach them; and most importantly, he knows how to craft a message to truly reach them.

Since joining Serafin & Associates, Inc., in September 2008, Aaron has been the firm's point-person in Springfield, where he interacts with reporters, lawmakers and others at the Capitol on behalf of our clients. Whether we're working to promote an upcoming event or to focus media attention on legislation, Aaron is uniquely positioned and equipped to help.

Aaron has a stellar reputation for hard work, independence and integrity. As a reporter, he was widely regarded as a bulldog determined to find and capture the story behind the story. He was thoughtful, thorough and meticulous with detail. He strived to engage readers with innovative story telling, whether he was writing news, enterprise or column material, posting on a blog or producing multi-media features.

As a reporter, Aaron managed Statehouse bureaus for the Rockford Register Star, Illinois Issues magazine and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. He launched his media career in Chicago, where he worked at the venerable City News Bureau of Chicago following stints at the Chicago Reporter, Streetwise, and Lerner newspapers.

Along the way, he contributed to a variety of publications including the Chicago Tribune, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Catalyst magazine, Stateline.org, the Peoria Journal Star and the (Springfield) State Journal-Register.

When Aaron isn't busy working the Capitol or assisting with general client needs in Chicago or elsewhere in Illinois, chances are he's busy honing a culinary delight in his home kitchen or atop one of several grills behind his house.

Aaron grew up in Libertyville, graduating from Libertyville High School and the College of Lake County before earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. He lives with his wife, Jennine, in Springfield.
